About Us
Hi! I’m Teresa Brown, owner of Worthwhile ReStyle. Thanks for stopping by!
It's hard to believe this business is ten years old! I started it just a few months after the birth of my second son. During my pregnancy I had SO much fun decorating his nursery – I scoured thrift and antique shops to fill his room. I taught myself how to paint furniture and was so proud of that nursery that I entered (and won!) a nationwide decorating contest sponsored by JoAnn Fabric!
But after my sweet baby was born, I found myself missing the creative outlet that the thrifting, painting, and decorating had provided me. One day when my son was about 4 months old I was browsing a brand new antique/collectables shop in town. The owner was still looking for vendors to sell their wares. For only $54 a month I took a leap of faith and secured a little 4x6 space and Wortwhile ReStyle was born.
When I started, I focused mostly on painted furniture (which hadn’t yet reached the level of popularity it is now), vintage tchotchkes and decorative items. I loved going to yard sales and Goodwill, finding trash and turning it into treasure that other people found value in. I then began teaching furniture painting workshops and my business was growing. I was with this store for about a year when I decided to branch out and found The Lazy Daisy. Their first store was located in Chester, VA. At this time, the Lazy Daisy was just getting ready to open their second location in Midlothian, VA. I met the owner, Michelle and had a great feeling from her and the store. I jumped at the chance at being at the Daisy! When I opened my first boutique, I added high-quality fashion jewelry to my offerings. Well, the customers loved it! Slowly I added more jewelry and less furniture/vintage, and the Worthwhile ReStyle boutique grew to what it is today.
That was in 2014 and almost every year since then, Michelle has opened a new Lazy Daisy, and Worthwhile ReStyle has grown right along with it, securing a spot front and center in each new store. Our customers have grown to know us as having stylish, affordable, and ever-changing styles. We are exclusively located in all 8 Lazy Daisies and are looking forward to more growth in the future as The Lazy Daisy has become a franchise opportunity for like-minded creative businesspeople wanting their own store. Additionally, my customers have asked, and we are proud to finally be able to offer a small collection online for those who can’t shop locally.
If you've read this far, thank you! I'm so grateful to my customers who have shopped with and supported us for so many years. This business has been such a blessing to my family, and I couldn’t do this without our loyal customers.
With gratitude,
Teresa Brown
